’Udbyg jeres internationale strategi!’ Det var en af anbefalingerne i evalueringsrapporten om Taastrup Teater som Kunststyrelsens fag-konsulenter udarbejdede i 2009.

Teatrets bestyrelse tilsluttede sig tanken, og teatret er derfor på forskellig vis på vej ud over de nationale grænser for at møde globaliseringen på dens hjemmebane.

Et af initiativerne er projekt Crossing Paths, som giver os mulighed for at udvikle diversitetsaktiviteter med udgangspunkt i de erfaringer, vi har gjort gennem ’FrameWork’.

Projektet omhandler brug af teater og drama med unge i forbindelse med interkulturel dialog og en del af dette samarbejde består af udveksling af erfaringer fra forskellige lande i EU. I projektet indgår tre partnere:

I ansøgningen til EU vedr. Crossing Paths-projektet står der:

Crossing Paths relates to the objectives and selected fields because it exploits drama and performing arts as communication tools to connect children and youth in three different member states to work together. The participants use the stage and the art of theatre as means of peer non-formal education to intercultural dialogue and social inclusion.

Drama activity is a main tool for non formal education, which enables the participants to exchange experiences and backgrounds and to learn from one another. This offers them the chance to interact and work together for a common closing goal, e.g. the Theatre School Festival.  Through the working and acting exchange, trans-national mobility and intercultural dialogue will have clear and main roles without stressing the participants.

Performing arts are the communication, learning, teaching and building tools, through which the participants come to exchange opinions and points of view, sharing a stage and a working experience, also enhancing personal creativity, offering a chance to free self expression and fostering self confidence. This comes out to be also a celebration for 2009 European Year of Creativity.

The whole process will also build a method, on an European level, to develop the use of performing arts as a tool to encourage intercultural dialogue.

Projektet indeholder bl.a. en udveksling af dramalærere og instruktører mellem de tre lande. Danmark og Italien tager til England for at arbejde med de unge udvalgte til projektet, og Italien og England kommer til Danmark.

I maj 2011 tager England og Danmark så til Italien og arbejder med de unge udvalgte dér. Her opføres resultatet af de tre gruppers arbejde på en stor teaterfestival i San Lazzaro, Bologna.
