VISION, MISSION AND OBJECTIVES - Taastrup Teater -

Taastrup Theatre dates back to 1970, it is situated in the heart of the western region of Copenhagen, with a varied programme of drama, music and dance. The theatre specializes in productions about contemporary societal issues such as cultural diversity, ethnic diversity, globalization etc. The theatre has toured in Poland, Norway and Sweden.

Taastrup Theatre co-produces drama with other theatres nationally and internationally. The theatre offers different educational opportunities such as a drama-school for children, a musical-school for youngsters, and a diversity-project for neighbouring families. The theatre also acts as venue for an annual community festival, and host touring companies rock-concerts and opera-productions.

The theatre has strong links to the local community, the public as well as the private sector, including a sponsor-club of more than thirty private enterprises, as well as formal alliances with the drama-department at the local High School , the local museum, public schools, sport-clubs, and other cultural institutions and organizations.

The theatres two main funders are the municipality of Hoeje-Taastrup and the Ministry of Culture; and also receive funds from other sources such as the Ministry of Integration, the British Council et al.

To be an attractive and indispensable theatre with a programme of the highest artistic quality, maximum diversity and greatest possible accessibility, within a sound and sustainable financial framework.

Mission


To create, develop and produce a vital and dynamic programme of theatre, and other live performances and projects, for all the people of Hoeje-Taastrup and surrounding areas.

Objectives

To attract the most talented, well-educated, competent and caring personnel.
To create a theatre that is welcoming, inclusive and open to all sections of the community.
To create a theatre which has a high profile, and is a vital component of the public and cultural life of the region.
To create work that both satisfies and challenges the theatre´s audiences.
To develop a national profile for the theatre as a centre of excellence and a source of innovation.
To combine our own productions, projects, collaborations with other partners and touring work.
To offer opportunities to develop theatre and performance skills, particularly to young people and other social and cultural groups who are currently underrepresented.
To educate theatrepeople and create educational opportunities for other students within the theatre´s programme which enliven and extend their studies.
To combine with other partners, as sponsors, co-producers or funders to enhance and extend the quality and scope of our productions and other activities.
To develop new artists, new work and new ways of working.
To develop business acumen to ensure and enhance both the efficient running and financial viability of the organisation.
